The parenting journey brings with it amazing joy... and amazing challenge!
At FPC we understand the unique role it is to be a parent, and the strong desire to do your best for your child, especially during their difficult times. During parenting there are moments when we all realise that we are struggling to manage a particular situation or solve a problem that has arisen. The need for new skill development, learning and support is something that many parents find themselves seeking from time to time while they navigate the journey from expecting their first baby through to parenting an older child.
Your psychologist will first conduct an assessment to develop a thorough understanding of your individual family. We know that one size does not fit all! Our psychologists will ensure that you feel well supported, by providing you with evidence-based, proven strategies to assist your child in managing the difficulties they are facing. Treatment may include strengthening your own skills, such as behaviour management and emotion coaching, and teaching your child new skills to cope effectively with the difficulties they are facing.
We offer the following psychology services:
The types of difficulties we treat are broad, and include:
Assessment / Testing Services
Our Eastern Clinic accepts referrals for psychological testing. We offer AFFORDABLE testing. We have a commitment to making testing more accessible through the private sector, as the costs have often made it difficult for parents to seek out this service. Please be assured the testing will not be compromised in any way in quality and that Eleonora has extensive testing experience (this being an area of specialty).
We offer high quality testing and the fees reflect a desire to support parents.
Parents seek such assessments for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you or others have concerns about your child's learning. For instance, does your child have a learning disorder such as dyslexia? You may be wondering if your child is especially bright and requires a more challenging curriculum to remain engaged with their schooling. Your child may require a review / updated assessment following a previous assessment in the past. You may be concerned about whether your child's struggles in a specific area (such as anxiety) are impacting on their performance Or you may be interested in knowing how your child is performing compared to peers. Psychological testing will generally involve:
The fees include the face to face services along with scoring, interpretation and report preparation (around 10 hours).
Our assessment services are reasonably priced to assist with accessibility. Fees are reduced if only one test is required, in instances where another service may have conducted a test already. Please call to discuss individual needs.
Independent Me! An outreach program for kinder aged children experiencing Separation Anxiety

We began offering free training to kinders around managing separation anxiety, using strategies based on current best practice research into developmental neurobiology and emotion regulation. Following a wonderful response from kinder staff, we are very excited to offer a unique outreach program to support children within their kinder environment! Our Independent Me! Program is aimed at children who have not responded to usual strategies for settling into their kinder space and are experiencing significant levels of separation anxiety. We work directly with children and their parents in the kinder room so that educators can also observe our processes to facilitate continuity.
